With a passion for writing and business, I decided to pursue both with enthusiasm.
Born and raised in Fort Valley, GA, I began my academic journey at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, where I received my B.S. in Marketing and MBA. After graduation, I worked for some of the world’s largest FORTUNE 500 companies, including Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble.
In 2012, I launched Mynd Matters Publishing, a hybrid publishing company dedicated to guiding and supporting new and aspiring authors through their book publishing journeys. Since opening its doors, Mynd Matters has worked with over 150 authors and published over 400 books across an array of genres, including adult fiction, self-help, memoir, children’s fiction, poetry, business, and more. Under the Mynd Matters imprint, I have published several of my own titles, including Yesterday Mourning, Rihanna’s Can-Do Adventures, Santa’s Holiday Mix-Up, and Holidayville’s Lucky Easter Surprise.
In 2014, I launched a second enterprise, SightsSet, a market research company that helps clients integrate consumer understanding into every element of brand strategy and marketing execution. Since its inception, our strategists and research partners have created customized solutions for every type and size of enterprise, including, but not limited to, Procter & Gamble, PepsiCo, Pfizer, American Express, Ebony, and DoorDash.
In addition to my degrees from FAMU, I have two executive education certifications in Entrepreneurship from Dartmouth College.
In 2019, I joined the Independent Book Publishers Association
(IBPA). I’ve held positions on the Membership Committee (Chair),
Board of Directors, and Executive Committee, and I currently
serve as Board Chair for FY 25/26.
